The American Library Association (ALA) releases its list of the 10 most frequently challenged books of 2013, after collecting reports on book challenges from librarians and teachers over the past year. A challenge, says the ALA, “is defined as a formal, written complaint filed with a library or school requesting that a book or other material be restricted or removed because of its content or appropriateness”.

Details of the top 10 most complained about books of 2013. The list includes Brave New World, The Hunger Games and the Captain Underpants series.
